Referring to research and guru reviews about substituting the human workforce with Artificial Intelligence or AI, it’s found that many careers are at high risk for completely being replaced by AI. Anyway, don’t be panic! AI can’t take over some labor jobs. Let’s see what those jobs are.

5 Jobs that AI can’t replace

HR will need people who possess Soft Skills, such as leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. AI can’t understand human emotions; hence the job in this field won’t be replaced by AI soon.

2.Sales / Marketing / Public Relations: The likelihood that AI will take over these jobs is 1.3%, 1.4%, and 1.5%, respectively.

Sales need communication and interpersonal skills, listening and understanding others, Rhetoric and Psychology. Marketing jobs need initiative in new marketing campaigns including listening and understanding customers. Finally, Public Relations need Soft Skills in both communication and human relations including high competence in writing press releases to create a good image for an organization. All those skills in Sales, Marketing, and Public Relations can’t be replaced by AI at any point in time.

3. Event Management: The likelihood that AI will take over is 3.7%.

This type of job needs multi-personal skills, such as planning creativity, and communication skills to present event themes to customers, including leadership skills to manage events towards goals, problem-solving when an unexpected incident occurs, and teamwork effort. Thus, this job is unlikely to be taken over by AI.

At present, an accounting task like recording income and expenses can be done through package software. Entrepreneurs don’t need Accountant anymore as they can record daily income and expenses on their own.

3. Deliveryman / Driver: The likelihood that AI will take over is 94%.

Deliveryman will soon be replaced by Drones or Robots including Autonomous cars or Self-driving Car so drivers will be no longer employed.

4. Department Store staff / Retail Shop staff: The likelihood that AI will take over is 92%.

AI technology is now used for data processing by integrating image and sensor data. Managers can monitor the items ordered by customers and then charge them from their accounts promptly, or payment can be made through e-Wallet on a smart phone. Thus, store or shop staff will be possibly unemployed.

5. Proofreading: The likelihood that AI will take over is 84%.

Proofreading is much simpler and can easily be automated through different apps and programs. A demand for proofreaders is expected to go down and they may no longer be needed in the future.

Even though Soft Skill jobs or jobs with creativity and empathy still can’t be replaced by AI but we shouldn’t be careless. Advanced technology in the future may rapidly develop and enhance AI to be capable of performing all human jobs. As a result, everyone should adapt to changes and keep developing Soft Skills to survive the workplace and to protect themselves from the coming of AI revolution.
