Siam Commercial Bank (SCB), represented by First Executive Vice President and Head of the CSR Function Araya Phupanich, recently offered 184 SCB scholarships worth some 1.17 million baht to students from 139 Border Patrol Police schools in remote areas. Offering educational opportunities to potential students in need, the SCB scholarships are granted for continuous education for 12 years from secondary level Mathayom 1 to the bachelor’s degree level. Border Patrol Police Division Commander Pol. Lt. Gen. Wichit Paksa was on hand representing the students at the Border Patrol Police Division.
On this occasion, SCB also presented a set of “Save the Environment, Reduce Waste” learning media to 220 Border Patrol Police Schools nationwide. Aiming to raise awareness of environment care and waste reduction among elementary students, the learning media set was developed with a concept of “Anyone can be a hero. Just start with ourselves.” Featuring environment-saving characters in a big book, videos, and music videos in a flash drive, the set provides edutainment on the different types of waste and their impacts, waste sorting, the “3Rs” principles for waste management, and energy saving.
