SCB Unveils "SCB UnewForm: New Uniforms, New Eco-Friendly Designs" Under the "Live Sustainably" Concept

Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) has launched new uniforms under an "SCB UnewForm: New Uniforms, New Eco-Friendly Designs" campaign reflecting the bank’s "Digital Bank with a Human Touch" corporate strategy. This strategy emphasizes the role of SCB people as a crucial force in building good relationship with customers and driving the bank toward its goal of becoming a “better bank.” It also reflects the "Live Sustainably" concept, focusing on promoting sustainability at every level – the bank, customers, and society. The new uniform is more than corporate attire; it is an important tool for instilling environmental awareness and demonstrating the bank's commitment to creating a better world.

SCB UnewForm uniforms are made from recycled materials, with over one million plastic bottles transformed into recycled fabric to produce eco-friendly uniforms. This helps reduce environmental impact and instills a sense of sustainability within the organization. Mr. Worawat Suvagondha, Chief People Officer, stated, "The bank believes that sustainability is not limited to financial aspects but also includes environmental care and social betterment. Reflecting this commitment, we have designed new uniforms for 2025 under the SCB UnewForm campaign, which combines environmental care, professionalism, and modernity. The bank also values our people as the core of the organization, listening to their voices to create uniforms that meet the needs of comfort, appropriateness, and pride, while integrating technology and innovation to truly drive business and sustainability at the same time."

The "SCB UnewForm: New Uniforms, New Eco-Friendly Designs" campaign consists of three main ideas:

  • New Uniforms: Modern, comfortable, practical uniforms made from eco-friendly materials.
  • New Mindset: Encouraging employees to be aware of the importance of small changes that impact the environment, which everyone can think about and implement in every aspect of life.
  • New World: Aiming to create a sustainable world with environmental care through these initiatives.

SCB collaborated with two leading brands, Asava and Songsmai, to design uniforms for employees in different functions, addressing both functionality and a proper image while reflecting modernity, elegance, and sustainability.

Asava designed the uniforms for the branch staff under a "Thai Heritage Kaleidoscope" concept inspired by viewing Thai patterns through a kaleidoscope, translating into crystal patterns in various shades of purple that reflect SCB's identity. These uniforms feature four key attributes:

  • Proficient: Every design detail reflects attention to detail and the use of high-quality materials.
  • Efficient: Meticulous tailoring, breathable materials, and ergonomic design make the uniforms comfortable and practical.
  • Sharp: Clear, modern silhouettes that can be mixed and matched in different ways.
  • Modern: Simple yet powerful designs that highlight the bank's distinctiveness.

The uniforms are made from recycled materials, using over 700,000 plastic bottles, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 18,829.95 kilograms, equivalent to planting 1,570 trees.

Songsmai designed the uniforms for SCB FIRST and SCB PRIVATE BANKING staff, focusing on tailor-made suits for each employee to ensure a perfect fit, enhancing confidence and professionalism. The design philosophy emphasizes elegance and suitability for high-level clients, with details such as a peak lapel collar, pick stitch, barchetta and ticket pockets, raised gorge lines for an enhanced look, and added cutaway for a modern Italian touch. The sustainability aspect includes using eco-friendly materials and a made-to-order process to reduce overproduction waste, which previously accounted for up to 20% of wasted material. Despite using recycled materials, the fabric remains soft, smooth, and comfortable, while retaining its shape, enhancing the wearer's look. The uniforms are also easy to care for and iron, thanks to the wrinkle-resistant fabric, saving time and energy.

SCB believes that small changes, such as these new uniforms made from recycled materials, can have a significant impact. The launch of SCB UnewForm is not just a change in attire but a symbol of commitment to inspiring and driving positive change toward a sustainable future under a "Live Sustainably" concept balancing business, society, and the environment.
